Upgrading a Basement Waterproofing System for a Long Term Solution
Challenge
A homeowner contacted our team after continuing to experience water entering her basement during periods of heavy rain. Our company had previously completed work at the home; however, over time it became clear that the initial solution was not fully addressing the long term water intrusion issues.
Because persistent basement leaks can lead to moisture damage, mold growth, and structural concerns, the homeowner wanted a more reliable solution to keep the basement dry moving forward.
To properly evaluate the situation, one of our System Design Specialists returned to the home to conduct a full inspection of the basement and foundation area. After assessing the conditions, it was determined that a more comprehensive waterproofing system would be needed to effectively capture and redirect water entering the basement.
Instead of addressing isolated areas, the recommended approach focused on installing a full interior drainage system designed to manage water around the perimeter of the basement and direct it safely out of the home.
Solution
Our production crew installed a combination of waterproofing systems designed to work together to control water intrusion and improve drainage throughout the basement.
The installation included:
-waterguard interior drainage system - Installed along the perimeter of the basement to capture water entering at the wall floor joint and direct it toward the sump system.
-waterguard port - Added to allow for easy access to the drainage system for maintenance and inspections.
-SuperSump sump pump system - Installed to efficiently pump collected water out and away from the home.
-Cleanspace Wall System - Installed along the basement wall to help direct any moisture or water seepage into the drainage system below.
By combining these systems, water is now captured, managed, and safely removed before it can enter the basement living space.
With the upgraded waterproofing system in place, the homeowner now has a much more reliable and comprehensive solution designed to keep the basement dry. The system works continuously to collect water along the foundation walls, direct it to the sump pump, and discharge it safely away from the home.
