basement waterproofing and Foundation Stabilization in Ottawa
Challenge
A Homeowner in Ottawa contacted our team with concerns about water intrusion in their basement and visible signs of foundation wall movement. The moisture and structural issues were affecting the usability of the space and raised concerns about long-term damage if left unaddressed.
After completing a thorough inspection, we determined that groundwater was entering at the footing level and that the foundation walls required stabilization. A combined waterproofing and structural repair approach was needed to fully protect the basement.
Solution
Our crew installed a WaterGuard subfloor drainage system slong with a WaterGuard port to allow for future access and maintenance. Water collected by the system is directed to a TripleSafe sump pump system, providing dependable protection even during heavy rain or power outages. An iceguard was added to the exterior discharge line to prevent freezing and ensure year-round performance.
To manage wall moisture, we installed a CleanSpace® wall system, creating a durable vapor barrier that directs moisture into the drainage system. Rim joist insulation was also added to improve energy efficiency and reduce drafts in the basement.
To stabilize the foundation walls, we installed CarbonArmor® straps and ArmorLock® anchors, helping prevent further movement and reinforcing the structural integrity of the home.
With the new systems in place, the basement is now dry, protected, and structurally stable. The homeowner has peace of mind knowing their basement is safeguarded by a professionally installed, long-term solution that addresses both water control and foundation stability.
