Basement waterproofing and Moisture Control System - Merrickville Ontario
Challenge
The homeowner contacted us due to ongoing water intrusion in their basement. water was entering at multiple points, particularly along the foundation walls and near the entry way. The high humidity levels and persistent dampness made the basement uncomfortable, unusable, and at risk of mold growth. The client needed a long term, reliable solution that would address both water entry and air quality.
Challenges
- Persistent water seepage at wall floor joints
- Surface water pooling near the entry point
- Risk of moisture damage and mold due to high humidity
- Limited drainage control with no backup during power outage.
- Unfinished, cold basement walls contributing to a musty environment.
Solution
We designed and installed a comprehensive waterproofing and moisture control system, tackling the problem from every angle.
Key components:
- Water guard system and port: Captures water along the perimeter before it reaches the basement floor and redirects it to the sump pump. The port allows inspection and maintenance.
- Trench drain and Trench Lock - placed at the basement entrance to catch surface water and safely channel it into the system. Trench lock helps block radon and vapor from entering through the drain.
- Triple safe sump pump system, - provides triple protection with three pumps(primary, secondary, and battery backup) ensuring the system keeps working.
- Ice guard and rain chute EZ - prevent exterior discharge line freezing and allow seamless water ejection even in winter months.
- Clean space wall system - a bright, vapor barrier liner that keeps moisture out, improves air quality and prepares the space for future finishing,
- Sani Dry Sedona - A high performance dehumidifier that keep the air dry and healthy by removing excess moisture and allergens.
