Professional Foundation Repair & Basement Waterproofing in Nepean

We had a Homeowner in Nepean-Ottawa,Ontario who reached out to our Team about needing to upgrade their window well and fix the leak that kept coming through their window well.  The homeowner's  noticed water intrusion whenever it rains, and it got progressively worse during the summer as we had many big storms this passed summer season. Our crews were brought in to remove the old window well and install a new one while ensuring the new system was properly connected to the home's drainage.

To begin the project, the crew excavated approximately 6 feet down around the existing window well. Once the area was exposed, the existing window well was removed to make room for the new installation.

The team then installed a new window well and tied the installation into the home's existing exterior weeping tile system. This connection provides a pathway for water collected around the window well to drain into the home's drainage system and away from the foundation.

With the work complete, the homeowner now has a new window well with integrated drainage, providing improved water management around the basement window and greater peace of mind.

A homeowner wanted to steps to waterproof their basement and better protect their home from water and moisture concerns. Our crews completed a comprehensive basement upgrade that addresssed drainage, sump pump protection humidity, insulation and the over condition of the basement.

The team installed 165 linear feet of WaterGuard along the basement perimeter, along with 10 WaterGuard Ports to provide access to the drainage system. To help manage collected water, they installed a TripleSafe sump pump system and one SuperSump, along with an IceGuard system to help protect the sump discharge line during freezing conditions.

As part of the waterproofing work, the existing conrete floor was removed and new concrete floor was installed, allowing the necessary drainage work to be completed while leaving the homeowner with a fresh, finished floor. 

To further protect the basement from moisture, the crews installed 206.25 linear feet of cleanspace wall system and a sanidry sedona dehumifier to help manage humidity. they also installed 165 linear feet of rim joist insulation to improve insualtion around the basement perimeter. 

To give the basement a more finished and comfortable appearance, 141 linear feet of basement to beautiful panels were installed. 

With the project complete, the homeowner now has a comprehenseive system designed to help manage, water, moisture, humidity, and insualtion while also providing a cleaner and more finished basement environment.

Our solution: Carbon Armor wall reinforcement System

To address the issue, we installed the Carbon Armor System,  a cutting-edge foundation repair solution designed to stabilize and reinforce cracked or bowing foundation walls.

How Carbon Armor works:

1 Crack preparation. We began by cleaning the affected areas and carefully grinding channels into the concrete to ensure a proper surface for bonding. This prep step is essential for long term adhesion.

2 Epoxy Application. A specialized two part epoxy resin was applied both to the prepared wall surface and to the carbon fiber straps. This powerful adhesive forms the base of the reinforcement.

3 Strap Installation. High strength carbon fiber straps were embedded into the epoxy and pressed tightly against the foundation wall. These straps are stronger than steel and designed to hold walls in place without stretching or yielding.

4 wall reinforcement. Once cured, the epoxy created a strong bond between the wall and the carbon fiber, reinforcing the structure and halting further cracking or inward movement.

5 Optional Armor Lock. For walls showing signs of bowing, our team can also install Armor Lock anchors, which tie the top of the wall to the rim joist for added stability. This locks the wall in place and prevents further inward shifting.

The results: The CarbonArmor system provided the homeowner with a long lasting, non invasive solution to their foundation concerns. Their wall is now structurally reinforced and protected against future cracking and bowing without the need for full wall replacement or extensive excavation.
