I have 2 large cracks in my foundation, they were both discovered in early 2017. Both cracks run from the top of the foundation to the bottom, one of them continues to the basement floor. The larger crack is about an inch thick (I can stick my hand in the crack) and the wall is sticking out about 1/4 of an inch. The crack has not moved or increased in size since I started monitoring it about 1.5 years ago. The exterior wall where this crack exists is directly under my garage floor. To access the crack from the outside of the foundation, we would need to excavate under the garage floor (Removal of the garage floor will be required). I believe this crack might be a result of the foundation being back-filled before the cement had enough time to cure. I think this crack might have been created when the house was built. I would like someone to come have a look and propose some solutions. At the same time have a look at a couple of other smaller cracks that might require water proofing or injections.
